Share The Road Program

March 17th, 2010

We believe that safety is best improved by education for both riders and the motoring public. We believe that sharing America’s roadways safely requires understanding and cooperation.

We have volunteers who present the “Share The Road” program to Driver’s Ed students and other groups throughout the state.

The training is intended to reduce accidents between motor vehicle drivers and motorcyclists, by seeing, respecting, and understanding a motorcyclists’ needs and rights on the highway.

In 2006 the Governor signed into law Senate File 2267, a mandate that requires ABATE of Iowa’s “Share The Road” program be taught in every drivers education class in the state of Iowa.

Visit the main ABATE of Iowa web site for more information.
